Fun in the Frost!
SOCA invites you to participate in the Frostbite Tournament, which will take place in Charlottesville. The tournament will be available to all recreational participants from the Charlottesville/Albemarle and Augusta regions. Games will be held at the SOCA Field House and SOCA-acac South Fork Soccer Park. Each team will be guaranteed a minimum of three games. SOCA recreational tournaments are a great fun-filled soccer weekend!
The tournament is held for the enjoyment of the players. SOCA’s goal is to provide Recreational players an opportunity to showcase their skills and experience the exhilaration of a tournament setting. All participants (players, coaches, and spectators) are encouraged to enjoy the fun and challenge of the tournament format. The highest standards of sportsmanship are expected.

Who Can Play?
The Frostbite Tournament is open to all teams playing in SOCA’s Recreational program only. No Travel, Challenge, All-star, or Tournament specific teams or players are permitted. The tournament is for current SOCA Recreational Program teams, their officially rostered players, and their officially rostered SOCA Recreational guest players only. All team members must be on a SOCA Recreation team roster prior to the tournament application deadline.

Can we bring guest players?
A maximum of five guest players are permitted for each U10 & U12 team and a maximum of five guest players for each U15 team. Guest players must be rostered on a SOCA Recreational Program team prior to the application deadline. No team may use a guest player from another SOCA team that is also participating in this tournament. The maximum roster size, including guest players, may not exceed the limits described below.

Under 15 11 20 2×35 min.* If a team’s original roster, issued by SOCA, exceeds the listed maximum, the issued roster size shall be accepted as maximum.
No Travel, Challenge, All-star, or Tournament specific teams or players are permitted.

How do we enter?
Complete the attached application, and provide full payment no later than the application deadline, November 17, 2024 at the SOCA office. Applications will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. SOCA reserves the right to determine the number of teams in each age group based upon on-time applicants and order of receipt.

How many games, and when are they scheduled??
The tournament will use a two-day format. There will be a minimum of three games for each team. Games will be played on Saturday, December 7th and Sunday, December 8th. Participating teams must be prepared and willing to play at any time between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm on both days. Sorry, no scheduling requests can be considered. All age group championships will be held on Sunday, December 8th.

Other Tournament Rules Highlights
- As in the Recreational Program, all players must play at least half of each game.
- All teams are expected to field full sized teams, for their age group. The requirement for an opponent to “play down” in order to keep both teams at even number is waived for tournament play.
- All teams must wear their current SOCA issued uniforms. No exceptions.
- Eyeglass hinges must be covered.
- Tournament officials reserve the right to verify the identification of all players prior to the start of each match. Unregistered players are not permitted.

$275 per team – U12 and U15
$225 – U10 teams

Refunds & Cancellations
Refund requests received in writing, prior to November 17th, will be refunded in full. No refunds will be given after November 9th except in the event of tournament cancellation.
If the tournament is cancelled, SOCA will pro-rate refunds for teams as deemed appropriate.
