SOCA’s remaining teams in the VYSA State Cup will be road warriors this weekend as all five will be traveling to compete the in the Round of 16 of Cup play.  The draw schedule has the SOCA squads on the road to various northern Virginia destinations on Saturday, April 16.

Winners will advance to the quarter-final group stage, guaranteeing each quarter-finalists a minimum of three more Cup matches.  The eight quarter-finalists are placed into two groups of four where they play a round robin against the other group members over a two weekend period.

The top two teams from each quarter-final group will advance to the State Cup semi-finals.

Three of the SOCA teams will face seeded opponents.  In each age group U13 and above, eight teams are seeded based upon previous Cup performance, current team composition and recent results.  All teams outside the top eight seeds are randomly drawn to fill out the brackets.  Since U12 is the first year of Cup play and there is no historical Cup performance data, no teams are seeded and all squads are drawn randomly.

U14 Boys Elite vs Loudoun Red (#6 seed) at Loudoun Soccer Park Turf #2, 12:00 noon

U13 Boys Elite vs BFC Barca Premier (#8 seed) at Brenman Park Turf, 5:00 pm

U12 Boys Apprentice vs CYA Purple at Sully Highlands 1B, 3:00 pm

U13 Girls Elite vs DC Stoddart Metros Blue (#3 seed) Arrowhead Park #1, 4:00 pm

U12 Girls Apprentice vs FCV United Ashburn Elite, Evergreen Sportsplex #2B, 11:00 am
