Two SOCA Premier teams advanced in President’s Cup play on Saturday, April 17 at South Fork Soccer Park.

In the opening match of the day, with an 11:00 am kickoff, the U14 Girls Premier squad squeezed out an exciting 2-1 overtime win over FCSC United.  With the match knotted at one goal each at the end of regulation, it took the extra stanza to separate the sides.  Coached by Chris Gomez, the girls will next play on May 8 in the quarterfinal round against Arlington, at a site to be determined.

The closing match of the day featured more overtime excitement, with the U12 Boys Premier, under the guidance of Coach Paul Rittenhouse, expertly using the extra time to pack away three goals in a 5-2 win over WYSC Mustangs.  The win advances the boys to the quarterfinals on May 8, facing SYC Lions at a site to be determined.
