U15 Boys Premier Win President’s Cup Title
The SOCA U15 Boys Premier team swept to the President’s Cup championship on November 8 by claiming a hard-won 1-0 win over SYC Lions.
Under the experienced guidance of head coach Fran Lavin and assistant Jeremy Spitzer, the SOCA side earned the club’s first President’s Cup title. The locals navigated a difficult draw, winning four consecutive single elimination matches to win the cup.
The opening round win against MU Elite required a penalty kick shoot out to resolve the match, and placed the locals against defending champions McLean in the second round. After knocking out the champs, SOCA Premier faced a back-to-back semi-final/ final weekend with confidence.
On Saturday, November 7, SOCA eased to a 3-1 semi-final win, before winning the crown on Sunday by the narrowest margin.
The title is a testament to the squad’s consistent resilience in close matches, and demonstrates the club’s depth of quality. This first President’s Cup trophy will join the 13 State Cup trophies in SOCA’s growing treasure trove.
