U15-U11 Elites Claim Silverware at CCL Generation Adidas Invitational
SOCA Elite Travel teams earned a treasure trove of trophies from the CCL Generations Adidas Club Invitational event held over the November 4-7 weekend. In the unique event, which grouped four clubs to play three sets of club-to-club match ups over the weekend, SOCA claimed six division titles at U15 Boys, U15 Girls, U14 Boys, U14 Girls, U13 Boys and U11 Girls.
Contesting in SOCA’s group at the Warhill complex in Williamsburg were guest club Pittsburg Riverhounds and fellow CCL members McLean and Virginia Legacy. The event was structured to allow each club to compete at age groups U15 through U11, each day facing a different club opponent.
In addition to SOCA’s group, which was the Adidas Ace group, there were two other groups competing separately. The Adidas Copa group also played in Williamsburg while the Adidas Gloro group played in Alexandria.
Within each group, and among all competing clubs, points were awarded based on results. Awards were determined at both the group level and overall among the three groups. SOCA came away with the overall second place award among all clubs and the overall boys champion award among all clubs. At the group level, SOCA was the Ace club champion and Ace boys champion. The girls’ results were strong enough to push the club to the overall second place finish.
The matches do not count in CCL league standings, rather the action was a stand-alone event providing high quality matches against top regional competition.
